What is kefir?

Kefir is a type of fermented milk drink that is made from yeast and other bacteria. It tastes sour and is like a liquid yogurt, the perfect base for a drinkable yogurt recipe.

Kefir is full of protein and because it is a fermented milk product, it feeds the microbiome in the gut to keep it healthy and strong. Gut health is essential for overall health.

Ingredients for Yogurt Recipe

Kefir: Kefir is the base of this yogurt recipe. You can easily make your own kefir, or you can buy kefir at the store. If you buy kefir, I recommend buying plain, whole milk kefir. Flavored kefir often comes with sweeteners and other ingredients.

Fruit: This recipe calls for a frozen berry blend, but honestly, you can use whatever frozen fruit you prefer!

Raw Honey: It is important to use a quality, raw honey for maximum benefits. Raw honey also contains live bacteria that feeds the gut microbiome and promotes overall healing in the body.

I love to fill a little jam jar with drinkable yogurt and put a lid on it for my toddler to enjoy. It is one of his favorite snacks! This also makes a great breakfast drink for your kiddos as well!
